Wellbeing Economy conferences across Europe

Both at EU level and nationally in other member states, there is increasing interest in Wellbeing Economy. The Danish conference on Wellbeing Economy is part of a larger network of conferences across Europe. At least four other conferences are to be held in European countries during 2024.

Beyond Growth Conference 2023

In May 2023, over 7,000 politicians, academics, business people, activists and other interested parties participated in the Beyond Growth Conference in the EU Parliament in Brussels. The conference was organized by members of parliament from 20 different political groups. It was a great success, and a new direction for the economic system that focuses more on the wellbeing of people and the carrying capacity of the planet stood as a clear vision.

National conferences on Wellbeing Economy in Europe 2024

As a direct consequence of the conference in the EU Parliament, a number of member states have now taken the initiative to hold conferences that seek to continue the work with the Wellbeing Economy at national level. In a time of increasing political polarization and multiple crises, the conferences must emphasize and work with our common need to live good lives on a sustainable planet. They must be a platform for how we can democratically orient our economy towards delivering a sustainable future for everyone.

So far, it has been confirmed that conferences will be held in Austria (May 13-15), Italy (April 18-19), Ireland (June 25-26) and France (end of September).
